Powys Castle and garden
Powys castle is a medieval castle which is now home to the Earl of Powys. The garden is world famous with Italianate terraces and the castle houses one of the finest collections of paintings and furniture in Wales. In addition the Clive museum houses a beautiful collection of Indian treasures.

One of the world’s most renowned eco-centres, featuring interactive displays and practical examples of sustainable living, renewable energy and organic gardening. On arrival visitors ascend 180ft via a cliff railway powered by water. The site spreads over 7 acres and includes interactive displays that demonstrate the power of wind water and sun. It also has examples of environmentally responsible buildings, energy conservation, organic growing and waste management.

Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway
The railway was first opened in 1903 to link the market town of Welshpool to the rural community of Llanfair Caereinion. Today the narrow gauge railway is used by visitors and those wanting a less rushed form of transport. All the trains are steam powered and some of the carriages have open balconys which give passengers access to the fantastic views along the route.
