Three undergraduate students from Hogeschool Zuyd, Netherlands visited Bladon House School and Pegasus on the 21st and 22nd January respectively. The group was made up of 2 Speech and Language Therapists and 1 Occupational Therapist students, and had come over to the UK as part of a research project entitled Interprofessional and client centred work at special schools in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom”.
During their visit they took the opportunity to have a tour round the school sites, spent time in class, observed therapy sessions, and had a chance to speak to the Therapy team. Therapists also completed questionnaires brought by the student team.
All the Therapists who participated in the project felt that they had benefited from the opportunity to talk and reflect on the work that they do. Participation in the project also supported the therapists at Bladon House School and Pegasus School with their own professional development which is a requisite for continual registration. |
