Care
Each pupil has an individual care plan, which is developed by senior staff and Key Workers in consultation with parents, social workers and where possible the pupil themselves. This covers areas such as health, religious beliefs, areas of concern like and dislikes, skill levels and attainment targets. Care pans enable us to ensure that all aspects of our student’s welfare and social needs are being addressed.
We have two residential buildings. The main house accommodates for up to five boys or girls. The Cottager can accommodate five students working towards semi-independent living.
We aim to provide a positive caring environment that promotes the development of the whole person and both the house and cottage provide a home like atmosphere where pupils can relax and enjoy their leisure time. Emphasis is given to social and life skills, recreation and leisure skills, group work and community involvement.
Each pupil is allocated a Keyworker and Co- Keyworker who have specific knowledge and experience of working with each individual pupil. These staff are an effective link between school, home and other services. They also act as advocates for the student: ensuring a voice on behalf of the student to ensure fair and just treatment and open access to all resources and entitlements.
The safety of our pupils is paramount and all staff follow out high standard of Care and Child protection as set out in our policies. (Please contact us for a copy of our policies). Risk assessments are carried out for all students when preparing for trips out into the community.
