Thirty members of care and education support staff from across the Group's schools and homes have embarked on the first module of SENADS Professional Development Programme. The programme has been devised by representatives from across the SENAD Group in collaboration with experts in Social Care and Education at the University of Derby.
The programme saw its first cohort successfully pass the first two modules in the summer of 2010. These staff have now gone on to study two further modules on the subjects of working with people with learning difficulties and human growth and development.
The programme has been created to enable staff to gain higher level, nationally recognised professional qualifications which they can apply in their day to day practice, to the benefit of the young people and adults in their care. The programme also allows staff to work towards degree level qualifications and experience university life.
Brian Jones, Chief Executive said 'We are committed to ensuring that the young people and adults in our care receive the highest levels of service possible. The Professional Development Programme has been designed to create a team of staff who have the knowledge and skills to deliver the very best practice in the sector.'
