Opening February 2012, Ecclesbourne Lodge, Duffield Derbyshire. A transitional home for adults requiring specialised care and support.

Ecclesbourne Lodge comprises of a 6 bedroom house and a 4 bedroom house, each with their own staff team. The lodge, which is Georgian in appearance, is set in thirteen acres of land, in a semi rural location close to the village of Duffield in Derbyshire and within easy reach of the City of Derby.

Ecclesbourne Lodge will be an ideal home for people with complex difficulties and challenges that require specialized ‘person centred’ support in a caring yet productive environment. Here they will be able to learn practical life skills and take part in a range of community and home based activities enabling their progress and transition towards more independent living.

Both homes are being developed to ensure they meet the support needs of residents, whilst promoting their independence and respecting their lifestyle choices.
The Groups Adult provision team has over 18 years experience of supporting people with complex support needs. These include (but are not limited to) Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Epilepsy, Angelmans Syndrome, and Fragile X Syndrome.

Residents at Ecclesbourne Lodge will also benefit from opportunities at Ecclesbourne Plant Centre and Tearoom which is located on the same site. The Group opened the plant centre and tea room in April 2011. This offers the young people and adults within our schools and homes ‘real’ work opportunities and valuable leisure activities. We plan to open these opportunities up to the wider special needs community and are currently working with local authorities and other partners to develop further learning and leisure facilities on the site.

We know that making a decision is difficult; there are so many things to consider and because we create support around what people want, there’s a lot to talk about.

Our Showroom will be open from early November... The Manager, Amanda Mellings welcomes services users, professionals and parents/carers to visit the Lodge.  This is an opportunity to really get a feel for what’s on offer.
