Earlier this year Bladon House School was acknowledged by OFSTED for having the safeguarding of its students at the forefront of it’s philosophy and practice. As a result staff and students have been asked by Ed Annable, Children’s Project Worker for VOICE UK, to help develop a set of resources
specifically designed to enable children and young people with learning difficulties to keep safe.
Once developed these resources will be available for use by children, young people and their families/carers across the UK.
VOICE UK is a national charity, based in Derby that promotes the rights of children, young people and adults with disabilities who have experienced crime or abuse, or are at risk of abuse.
Their aim is to:
- Improve the protection of disabled children and young people at risk of abuse
- Help them understand and exercise their rights
- Raise awareness about the risks of abuse of disabled children and young people
