Residential students at Bladon House School moved into their new homes when they returned to School in January 2010 following the Christmas break.
The houses have been designed to complement the current architecture of the main school building whilst meeting all modern regulations and requirements and providing a traditional, but modern homely appearance and feel.
Each six bedroomed home is autonomous and provides a range of facilities including living, dining and quiet areas. The interiors have been designed to complement the spaciousness and light created by the building design, whilst
furnishings have been chosen for their modern, contemporary look as well as their durability. Each home has a bedroom located on the ground with wet room ensuite fitted with ability aids meeting DDA requirements.
The homes are grouped to create a discrete courtyard with views into the garden and across open countryside. Within the courtyard is a separate activity building which provides an additional space serving all three homes.
The development of these homes will enable Bladon House School to provide the top class accommodation their youngsters deserve. We acknowledge that the physical environment is paramount to all our students’ development and general well being. The homes have been designed to enable the children and their care support staff the space to do all the things that we take for granted in our own homes, whether that be quiet time or group activities and I know this will have a positive impact for all concerned.’
