As part of the Key Stage 4 Work Related Learning Curriculum, students have been given the opportunity to find out about their options after the completion of their GCSE’s. The students have been undertaking desk top research during lessons combined with visits to see what’s on offer at Callow Park College and South East Derbyshire College in Ilkeston.

In addition students have visited the local Connexions office that provides information across a wide range of subjects including Careers, Work, Health and Money.

Through the collaboration of the Industrial Trust the students were able to spend an hour in the ‘Aero-Repair and Overhaul’ Rolls Royce plant in Derby. Whilst there they enjoyed a guided tour through the factory floor, where they were able to see plane engines being dismantled and re-assembled following repairs.
